  • A Side of Sass was born from the idea that confidence isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being real. We wanted to create more than just cute accessories (though, they’re pretty damn cute). We wanted to build a space that celebrates self-love, boldness, and a whole lot of extra. Whether it’s a hat that says what you’re thinking or a tote that makes you smile on a hard day, every piece we design is meant to remind you of your power, your spark, and your journey.

Meet Malia - The Founder

What started as a passion project quickly became a love letter to confidence, self-expression, and all things unapologetically you. I’ve always been the kind of person who loves getting to know people — their stories, quirks, and what makes them them. A Side of Sass was born from that same curiosity and love for individuality. I wanted to create something that speaks to someone’s character, not just the latest trend. Between juggling a full-time job, late-night brainstorming sessions, and even interning at a local print shop to learn the craft from the ground up, this business has been built with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of sass. When I’m passionate about something, I dive in headfirst — learning, growing, and creating something that makes people feel bold just by being themselves.

I currently work in college athletics, am a mom to 4 fur babies, love all things sweets, am a sucker for thriller and romance books, can easily get sucked into crime shows, and love doing paint by numbers.
